Thanksgiving

Not just for the pumpkin pie
It’s family coming from far away
The love will be in huge supply

Never want to say good-bye
The fun will last all through the day
Not just for the pumpkin pie

Crisp air under a bright blue sky
Children smile and laugh and play
The love will be in huge supply

Members grab the hands nearby
And all give thanks in some way
Not just for the pumpkin pie

Stories perched on grandpa’s thigh
His eyes get all misty and grey
The love will be in huge supply

Though the time may zip on by
Despite the stars out they stay
Not just for the pumpkin pie
The love will be in huge supply

  1. That's fantastic! The villanelle is a difficult poem to pull off, but I think you did it wonderfully! I never knew that you were such a talented writer.
