Does it come expecting to be clear?
No. It comes as confusing as it can be,
hidden as the idea of being finally free.
Freedom is making the right decisions
without advice or even provisions.
Leaving home and, of course, the nest.
Striving to prove you're the very best.
The reality of being all out your own.
The fact you're leaving the well known.
Being free can be an amazing right of pass
or turn into a very unfortunate impasse...

ReplyDeleteI really like the idea of freedom being "hidden" ... And I love your use of the elipsis at the end of the poem. It leaves the rest up to the reader's interpretation.
